Overview description

 Tajima Highland Botanical Garden, located in Torokawadaira (# 1 in Hyogo Prefecture's Top 100 Tourist Attractions), which is blessed with rich plants and spring water.

 It is a natural botanical garden with one of the largest vegetation in Japan, with an area of 17ha, a spring of 5,000 tons per day, and a huge wig of 1,000 years old.

 In the garden, you can see about 2,000 kinds of native trees and plants, and about 300 kinds of similar plants. In addition, because there are three ponds, insects such as butterflies, dragonflies, and beetles also inhabit and are also pleasing to children.

Flowers in full bloom in April

 Marsh marigold（ Yamanaukinka）, White arum（ Mizubasho）, Asian skunk cabbage（ Zazensou）,Hepatica（ Yukiwarisou）.
 Especially, snowflower is a small flower of about 10 cm that blooms with the thaw.
 It is colored with white, purple and ping gradations, and you can see flowers of various colors
 Also, these plants are collectively called spring ephemerals (spring fairies), so you can see the flowers for only 4 to 7 days.
 ※ Spring ephemeral: Meaning of “the ephemeral thing of spring” or “short life of spring”.

 The best season to see  white flowers and leaves, such as Hangesho, Okatrano, and Matatabi.
 When you find white flowers on the water's side under the shade of deciduous trees, you can enjoy the coolness of your time.
 Among them, the underwater flower which  wrote as a white plum flower and read it as a" Baicamo" shakes a beautiful five-petal flower in the water as a name.

Flowers in the best time to see in September and October

 Purple, white, and pink kikyo begins to bloom, and the fragrant Fujibakama blooms beautifully.
 The soft yellow Ominaeshi is the point color of the wild mountain in autumn.
 The pretty pink Kawaranadeshiko is shy and blooms to hide in the shade of a waterside tree.
 A little later, Malbahagi and Yamahagi bloom reddish-purple, giving you a sense of the depth of autumn.
 You can't see "Kuzu" flowers in the park, but you can find them on the way to the botanical garden.
 By the time the susuki and Takanohasski of the fine leaves put the ear, the temperature will be low.

 The big Katsura tree, which is a symbol tree, turns yellow for a very short period before winter.It shimmers through the sunlight.

 The leaves of the Katsura tree are shaped like a gentle heart.
 The leaves dropped by the winter wind give off a sweet scent and become a nutrient that fertilizes the soil until spring.

 As you approach the 1000-year-old large Katsura tree in the garden, the air around you changes and you can be exposed to clean particles of air  all over your body.
 In addition to this Katsura tree, there are two large Katsura trees in the nearby mountains, and it is said that if you go around three, you will be happy for 1000 years.

About the water

 "Katsura's Millennial Water", which cultivates many organisms and goes to the botanical garden, has been cherished since ancient times, with high-quality water springing up all year round from the corner of Torokawadaira, located in the middle of Mt. Torokawa (1,039 m).
 It is said that the Katsura tree  gathers this water, and 5,000 tons of natural water springs out from the root of the giant tree now.
 The water temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius all year round, and it does not rot because it is sterile.

 The water is soft water, and there is no extra taste, and it is mellow,
 You can make coffee, make whiskey water splitr, or cook rice to make quite delicious.
 This deliciousness cannot be expressed in words.
 Because it is gentle on the skin, it is said to be suitable for baby's hot water.
 There are also cups near the tree so that you can drink it in the garden, and you can also take away plastic bottles.
 There is a vending machine on the road in front of the botanical garden, and you can buy 20 liters for 100 yen.
 (The millennial water of the Katsura is recognized as "Heisei's 100 Best Waters" selected by the Ministry of the Environment in June 2008.)

Restaurant "Hyttebrunnen"

 The restaurant "Hyttebrnen" attached to the Tajima Highland Botanical Garden offers a wide variety of dishes using Tajima beef, which is famous for its roots in Matsusaka meat and Kobe beef. You can enjoy the rich umami and melting texture that spreads in your mouth to your heart's content.

 As a seasonal menu of spring, there is "Harutsumi-zen"（dish using wild vegetables picked in spring）, and you can also enjoy the tempura of wild vegetables such as japanese food, fukinoto, cosiabra, cod shoots, etc., and you can enjoy spring with your eyes and tongue.

Forest Yoga healing

 In the lawn square in the garden, you can experience forest yoga while bathing in the sun.
 Under the blue sky surrounded by lush nature, yoga that feels nature, such as birds' chirping, breezes, and the flickering of trees will lead you to the world of healing.

Event "Healing Forest Garden Show"

 The Garden Concert in the Healing Forest takes place in the morning, afternoon and less than an hour, with jazz, piano, antique music box, acoustic guitar, harmonica concerts and Hawaiian and hula dances for a limited time and daily.

 In addition, you can enjoy a wonderful tea time at the tea time salon in the park (300 yen per person with sweets) at the field exhibition and garden herbal tea.

 In addition, there are a gardening lecture and a container garden contest (a contest that collects works of the size that can be carried by one person, such as planting and hanging baskets) by appointment.
