What kind of place
Mineyama Highland is a vast plateau located at an altitude of approximately 930m within the natural park area.
It is surrounded by Mount gyousei (1,077m above sea level), Mount Sengamine (1,141m above sea level),
Mount Yotaka (1,056m above sea level), Mount Hiraishi (1,061m above sea level), and Mount Takahoshi (1,016m above sea level).
The area is filled with a landscape befitting a plateau, including oak trees, Japanese oak trees, and bamboo grass. It is also characterized by its gently sloping topography, which was formed during the ice age.
Mineyama Highlands is home to the Mineyama Kogen Hotel Relaxia. Within the hotel grounds is Relaxia Forest, a fantastical forest that was the setting for the film "Norwegian Wood," where you can enjoy a stroll of around one hour.
There is also a ski resort, Mineyama Kogen Resort White Peak, which is bustling with skiers and snowboarders in the winter.
Nearby, there are hiking trails that circle Tonomine Plateau and Ota Pond, which are famous for their silver grass.
